HUYABIO International is proud to sponsor the UNC Hockey team, bringing together two organizations that share a strong belief in the power of teamwork and collaboration.

Founded more than 20 years ago by CEO and Executive Chair Dr. Mireille Gillings (PhD, Hon DSc), HUYABIO works to connect promising biopharmaceutical innovation originating in China with patients around the world, with a focus on reducing the time, cost and risk involved in developing new medicines. Its work particularly focuses on advancing potential treatments for cancer and cardiovascular disease.

The partnership goes beyond sponsorship. HUYABIO also runs an internship program with members of the UNC Hockey team, giving players the opportunity to gain experience within an international biopharmaceutical company and learn about the collaboration, diverse perspectives and ways of working that underpin HUYABIO’s approach. This program will see members of the hockey team undertake an internship at HUYABIO International’s North Carolina office. The interns will contribute to live projects shaping the company’s future, while gaining hands-on experience and mentorship from leaders within the business.

In turn, the partnership provides an opportunity to share lessons about teamwork, performance and leadership – from one type of team to another.
