Assistant Coach
Tim has been an assistant coach of the UNC Ice Hockey team since 2017. He grew up in Buffalo, NY playing hockey on a backyard pond through his years at Canisius High School. After college at Georgetown, he was back on the ice with the University of Buffalo Medical School team and has been playing ever since. He has been coaching for over 25 years with all age groups and skill levels. Tim is currently an instructor in the USA Hockey Coaching Education Program. The philosophy that underpins his coaching style is “everyone gets better, all the time.”
Tim is currently a Professor of Urology at UNC – Chapel Hill. He and his wife Naomi have raised four children who all played ice hockey through college.
