Bill was appointed as the UNC Hockey goalie coach at the start of the 2023-24 season. He was born in Whitewood, Saskatchewan Canada and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. After growing up and playing hockey in western Canada, Bill earned himself a scholarship to play for the NCAA DI Western Michigan University Broncos. While at WMU he played 136 games and had an impressive 71-53-8 record. He earned NCAA All American 1986, CCHA Champion and Playoff MVP 1986 honors throughout his time at the collegiate level. His performance also earned him an induction into the WMU Ring of Honor and WMU Athletic Hall of Fame!

After college, Bill accumulated 8 years of pro playing experience in the AHL-Calder Cup finals with Rochester Americans, IHL-part of a record-setting San Diego Gulls team, ECHL-Brabham Cup Finals with Greensboro Monarchs, UHL- Playoff Champs with the Quad City Mallards and Regular Season Champions Michigan Falcons. He attended 3 NHL Training Camps after being drafted by the Hartford Whalers in 1986. Bill has also always had a keen interest in sharing his knowledge and has over 30 years’ experience training and developing goalies in SGS/camps/clinics.
