Dauda Departs For ECHL

Chapel Hill, N.C. – Tar Heel Hockey Head Coach Adam Dauda has announced he will depart the University of North Carolina to join the Greenville Swamp Rabbits of the East Coast Hockey League. Dauda leaves the Tar Heels with an 18-7-1 record along with an appearance in the ACHA Regional tournament.

“My time here in North Carolina and with our team has been memorable, challenging, and rewarding.” Dauda said “We’ve accomplished so much in just a year and I’m extremely proud of the players for their dedication to the program. I want to thank the players, staff, volunteers, parents and fans for welcoming me and for their support throughout this past year. We couldn’t have broken records and achieved all the milestones that we did without the help of everyone involved.
I know the program is set up for success with the elevation to ACHA D1 in the near future. I’m excited to see the new recruits make an impact and can’t wait to watch the team continue its momentum into this upcoming season.”
Dauda joins an LA Kings affiliated Swamp Rabbits team. The Tar Heels will have more information about their next Head Coach in the coming weeks. The games against the Carolina Hurricanes Alumni and the home opener against Wake Forest are still scheduled to go on as planned.
